TNA had many struggles with the television deals up in the air, but they did survive. The year ended with an underrated story of Jeff Hardy winning the TNA World Championship from Aries, as a face seeking redemption after coming back from rehab.

AJ Styles also witnessed a drastic change after being off television for months. The new darker look with longer hair and a beard added an edge to Styles when winning the title from Bully. Taryn Terrell was the most unexpected breakout star of , having a couple of classic matches with Gail Kim.
