Why does haymitch betray katniss

He must have been trying to drive it through the gap in the force field that she can see. She hears Peeta calling for her and sees Finnick approaching with Enobaria, one of the District 2 tributes. She slides the wire off the knife and ties it around her arrow. She fires the arrow through the gap, and as it pulls the wire through behind it lightning strikes the tree.

The force field bursts into a bright light and Katniss is thrown to the ground. Explosions occur all around as a hovercraft appears and scoops Katniss up. Inside is Plutarch Heavensbee. Katniss blacks out and wakes later partially tied to a padded table, but her limbs are barely functional. She loses consciousness twice and more but eventually wakes to find herself unrestrained. Beetee is there, hooked up to machines. She sneaks down a hallway and listens at a doorway to people inside talking about communications being down in various districts.

The voices belong to Plutarch, Finnick, and Haymitch. Haymitch takes the syringe from her and explains everything. All along there was a plan to break the tributes out of the arena. Plutarch has for several years been part of an underground movement to overthrow the Capitol. But Katniss knows what he is trying to do! Question: how exactly did Gale betray Katniss in Mockingjay part 2?

He never did. Gale devised a specifically vile way to attack enemies that is, Capitol fighters with BeeTee, and that way was a two stages bombing: first, a bomb goes off, then, when helpers rush in, another bomb goes off and kills them as well.

What he dislikes is probably people telling him what to do. He also really likes wine and alcohol. He indirectly killed Prim. Gale and Beetee developed ticker bombs that would be able to kill more civilians and military personnel, and seemed unphased by the loss of life he was causing. That is, he played a role, but it would be unfair to say that Gale killed Prim.

Coin killed Prim because she wanted to remove Katniss from her path of emerging to power. Ultimately, Katniss chooses Peeta because he is the only one who can understand what she has been through, and she does not like the side of Gale she saw in District As a result of this they are killed by the 2nd round of bombs. But this is basically what happens. Johanna pins Katniss down to the ground and Katniss thinks shes attacking Katniss but Johanna is just taking out Katniss' tracker so the Capitol cant find her.

Then Johanna runs away because Brutus and Enobaria are there. Neither Brutus or Enobaria goes to kill Katniss because they think shes practically dead and that would just waste time. Katniss decides to find Peeta because they were going to escape the alliance together. She hears a canon and she starts yelling Peetas name. She finds Beetee passed out beside the tree with wore wrapped around a spear towards the force field.

Katniss realizes that he was going to throw it at the force field. She wraps the wire around one of her own arrows and Finnick finds her and starts telling her to back away from the tree because it's almost midnight.

Instead she shoots it to the force field which breaks it and removes all the power from the arena. She's paralyzed because she got electrocuted but a hovercraft comes and picks her up. In the place where the hovercraft takes her she sees Beetee and wishes they would just let her die.

The 3rd time she wakes up she hears Haymitch, Finnick and another person talking. She opens the door and Plutarch the other person in the room , Haymitch and Finnick explain the rebel plan.

A whole bunch of different districts were in on it. The goal was to take Katniss out of the arena alive. Since Katniss badly wanted Peeta to live the tributes had to keep Peeta alive to keep Katniss alive. They wanted Katniss to be the mockingjay. Katniss gets pissed at Haymitch because he promised that Peeta would stay alive and she would die.

But also because she finds out that Peeta was taken to the Capitol with Johanna. She also learns that Brutus killed Chaff and so Peeta killed Brutus.
